"Orchid Duets, Tea, and Lute" I. Dawn: Tea House by the RiverOrchids unfold in flame, their scent unseen,
Yet steals through sleeves that brim with jade-green light.
The teahouse floats where mirrored ripples lean—
O liquid crystal!—on its beams alight. A pot of Spring (that precious first-born brew!)
Breathes steam where old pavilions dream and fade.
Upon the lute—now brushed with silver dew—
We pluck Shang-Diao, that griefless air we made. II. Dusk: Moonlit CourtyardThose same orchids (hark!) now gild the air,
Their perfume fused with rouge on silk brocade.
Through courtyard stillness—thin as porcelain—
The new moon hangs, a quivering accolade. Beneath slim fingers (nails like crescent shells),
Jue and Yu twine—two notes from some far sphere.
What need for words? The very lute-string tells
How tea-stained twilight melts into the ear. |
