It depends on your need and existing system. The 1.1 and 1.2 are specialty lenses, for shooting wide open and their bokeh. Stopped down, they are not as good as the slower lenses; but then why would one pay a premium for these lenses shooting stopped down. Because of their narrow DOF, focusing will be difficult; therefore, limiting street photography for most, including me. Although these lenses are soft and low contrast, 50mm is not the best length for portraits.
The Canon 1.4 is called the Japanese 50mm Lux. If you do not have a Lux, this is the best lens for value. If you have the Lux, then why bother owning an inferior copy. The 50 1.5 then is perhaps the best alternative for a truer Sonnar copy.
