I have no experience in ais 50/1.2. Can only tell that pre Ai 55/1.2 is quite soft at wide open, and it's extremely difficult to have spot on focus in the nearest focal length,  中焦範圍 is only about 6 cm. But I believe this happen to  every big eye lens.

Once tried AIS 50/1.2, after stop down one or two stops the image quality is so well and bokeh is also satisfactory due to its 9 aperture blades.

Oh thanks for your info and experience sharing, I have ever thought to buy this Len but not sure the picture quality. So how about the sharpness when step down to 1.4 , 1.8 or 2?

Thanks sharing, I also have ever tried this Len , even the full open is not sharp enough ,  the image quality is nice, also at this price about $3xxx no complaint at all.
