An end of a legend_Mr.Yuen and Kinefoto

Mr.Yuen opened Kinefoto Ltd at Man Yee Building in 1957,specialized in selling Leica,Hasselblad,Rollei,Nikon,Canon ,Kodak and other well known brands of photographic equipment.In 1995 he moved his shop to Stanley street and continued his photographic equipment business for another 3 decades, he was suffering from Alzheimer in 2013 and was relocated to Honolulu for further treating.Recenty,the shop has encountered a deep decline in business  and has to close down the shop for good,what a pity...

it was sad to see this ending.

just a bit more info: before coming to HK, mr. yuen worked at a camera store in shanghai. also mr. yuen's elder brother was a senior staff member at schmidt. this close connection with the dealer allowed kinephoto to become an expert store of leica at the time.

kinephoto was the second oldest camera shop in HK. the oldest one should be 廣大, which was also closed.

really miss the good old days.

三十年前買過一部Rollie 6006，當時有朋友在裡面工作，名字忘記了，已經沒有聯絡，有段小插曲，買6006為了趕接份job, 拍攝當日先發現快門未能同閃燈同步，拿拿聲返公司抬部45去補救，事後世界攝影原價收回相機，我同Rollie亦緣份到此。 來自: iPhone客戶端

工作需要而已，記得個客喺一個住半山的鬼婆，自小由一家港人收養，所以有中文姓名，呢日要到佢住宅拍攝小朋友同佢代理的兒童家俬。當日set好燈試第一張即影即有得一半曝光，以為自己set錯機，最後立即飛的返去抬部45機出來，好彩西人比較大方，而且4x5比120更好質素，總算無得失客人，世界攝影知道事件後二話不說就原價收回部機（因為是水貨，沒有另一部可替換），電子故障大家都無法預料吧。
