Advices on DC ...

My daughter is going to take a short course related to photography.
She intends to buy a small DC, asking meabout RX-100, but is worried about its "dust problem" ...

I have no idea about this.
Any advice?

I thouhgt Leica D-Lux 6 or the new Leica C would be better.
But I have no idea at all either ...

how about a ricoh GR? the interface of ricoh is quite straight forward for a starter of photography.

For other people, I would recommend RX100.

But for K-san's daughter, the camera has to be a little bit more sophisticated. I would recommend this one:

RX100 is a good choice. I have GRD, X100, S100, and RX100. Normally, I only carry RX100 . All others are left in my dry box...

Either RX100 or GRD is a good compact high quality DC.
The only concern will be whether your daughter wants a zoom lens or not.

Then better stay away from those with physical lens cap.

I think RX100 is still the DC with the largest sensor?  I have RX100 Mark I and it's a very good camera.  A quick search for "RX100" on Flickr should give you a lot of impressive images.

Since your daughter has iPhone already which has a pretty good camera, if she decides to bring a DC, I think the RX100 will be a good companion as image quality is much superior, and she can play with depth of field a bit more.

Off topic - the app "VSCOcam" actually a very good camera app on iPhone/Android, the filters in the app is "film like"
