I bought it 2 days before the official release day in Hong Kong from an authorized dealer,  with a little bit discount.

A good match for  A7/A7r if you need a high quality zoom lens. However, you must accept one important thing that it is a Thailand made product. Someone may regard it is not authentic "Zeiss Lens".

i also think that it makes a wonderful travelling combo. but the fact is the wide end (24mm) is still not too impressive....seems like sony still got a lot of work to do to make the wides on a7/a7r to perform.

yes. but psychological effect aside, i find the 55mm FE is extremely high quality.

Yes,  I like to use this lens. Besides,  I also got the 55mm f/1.8 but not yet try it seriously.

yes. i love the 55 FE. it is now my favorite lens on my A7R. DXOmarks give it the second highest mark for all 35mm lenses, only after Zeiss Otus.
