Do not set your expectation like Leica/Contax/Hasselblad.... not even Canon/Nikon....

To me, it's at the level like CV Voigtlander, not "too" bad, maybe above Tokina/Tamron

I have a m4/3 Art 30/2.8 DN.... simply a plastic tube

I have hand checked 5pc Art 35/1.4 Canon mount in MK DCFever before.... all dusty even the shop sales saying it's unacceptable

yes. Sigma had (dunno if still has) QC issues.
i also have Sony E-mount 30mm 2.8 DN not ART version. Very plasticky, but the image quality is fine.

for all the Sigma DPs I own, I checked carefully about any dust in lens. It is a very common problem. And I need to put on filter immediately when i bought the camera. Dusts just get in way too easily.

but if the price of 799 USD for the 50mm 1.4 is real. i think i will still get it.
for the price like that, i can accept some hassle

When you read the ANY review of Art 35/1.4... it's quoted as a five star lens that you should not miss...

When I hold one on hand... I don't want to buy it.

Leica's price point is not cheap!  Consider this:

How much is 35 FLE 11663?

How much is Summarit-S 70/2.5?

Leica is obviously charging a large premium for M-lenses.  The quality should be able to match the pricing.

If you found one, would you buy it and use it?

After all, the price is quite reasonable...

The DCfever shop asked me to go another day for new stock....

I skip the chance.... and bought a dirty used Contax AEG 35/1.4.... never look back

50mm art will be sold at US$ 949

as sigma products have always been cheaper in hk. i guess maybe ard 6k HKD?

Still remember an AF 50/1.4 cost around HK$2k for all brands... How about nowadays... Sony Sigma Nikon Zeiss

The cityscapes are awesome. Something's not right with the portraits. Maybe inappropriately lighted?

The photos are post-processed so apart from resolution (good) we can't tell a lot...
