A M camera instead, I doubt the author mix up R with M...

Digitalize problem is not specific to R, also M. Digital-Modul-R was marketed in 2005, but combining old-tech R8/R9, who will be the targeting customers?

Wrong, it can be readily used on Canon EOS via adapter only, Leitax adapter for Nikon appear quite a long time afterward and much more labor-extensive
To conclude, sorry to say the article just raise out common questions, but it does not have much useful info nor sound viewpoint... I do expect more analysis on marketing segment of R and overall brand strategy change of Leica after 2000s
BTW Somehow I believe Leica have ambition to make AF APO Modular Tele lenses, if they can make complicated lens head and focus modules system.
I have no offence to Leica R. I love it as R50/2 V1 is my first Leica lens and it is stunning to me. From user point of view, if they can make S system (with sensor just slightly larger than 135 but way small than 645), why don't continue to make 135 FF R? The only answer I know, they want to release new array of lens system to earn $$$ |
