Thanks Dennis hing
i didn't have much time to test every lens carefully. But as a rule of thumb, one definitely will prefer lenses with very good MTF performance, particularly for lenses with 35mm or wider. If one shoots wide angles a lot, I won't recommend A7r. Also, I tend to feel that 7r works better with modern lenses (better micro contrast, etc). of cos, old lenses give a different tone, but certainly it is not as "sharp"
like this one, i think the Voigtlander 50mm Heliar f/3.5 performs very well with the 7r. All the above pictures are wide open at 3.5 including #20, 24. it is crazily sharp. #21, #22, #23 may look blurry, because the ISO was too high. They were taken at ISO 25600. and #17 was ISO 1250, #19 was ISO5000. it is quite decent, right?
in the past, i think the 3.5 heliar was too slow. now with the high iso ability of 7r. everything becomes possible!!
