Yes. the face is "real" in a sense that it echoes to the environment while the picture is being taken. But that "realness" always has a quotation mark with it, because the person will act or pretend or fake in response to the camera. Then it is no longer the ordinary him or her.
But it is real as being real as with the camera. then it is exactly why fashion photography can be honest. it is honest, because it knows it is faking. (very interestingly, it was carla bruni who said that!)
I think candid shots are different. perhaps? |
