it is indeed quite difficult to catch her in focus these days especially on those where I haven't used the M9 and noctilux for a while, it takes quite a long time to get back into shape.  
I originally thought that it would be easier to focus on the A7s since I can tell what is in focus and what is not when off center but once the focus gets near the exact it becomes hard to tell if it is indeed exact focus.  Therefore I find the M9 easier to tell exact focus (due to the rangefinder) so to offset the less of an ability to focus off center what I do is fly over the area I want to focus (almost using the rf patch as a scanner) Once I fly it over the area I want I spin the focus ring to an approximate match then I ignore the patch and just focus on composing while guessing how much to turn the focus ring closer or further if my subject area moved based on experience.
