這等於把怕老婆的男人都抬舉到了一個很崇高的位置，讓怕老婆成為了一種時尚，一種劃分男人等級的標準。發明這句話的人必是怕老婆者中的極品。

不過別說，怕老婆的男人還確實很容易成功。

據人類學家的研究發現，怕老婆的男人家庭穩定，男人們免去了後院起火之虞，專心於自己的事業，往往事業有成。男人性格中的懶惰、粗心，更容易被改造成勤奮、細心；而抽煙、酗酒的習慣也得以控制，利於身體健康；最容易影響家庭穩定的丈夫流連于風月場所等因素，也因為畏懼“河東獅吼”而甚少出現。怕老婆的男人享受著從一而終的婚姻，過著夫妻偕老的幸福生活。

當然，怕老婆的男人也不是那麼好做的，聽聽“妻管嚴”這個詞語，就知道這些男人的行為是一定要聽從妻子安排的，有一些準則是必須遵循的。

過去對女人的“三從四德”要求，而今徹底轉移到妻管嚴男人的頭上了。男人的“三從四得”是：太太命令要服從，太太逛街要隨從，太太做錯要盲從；太太化妝要等得，太太生日要記得，太太花錢要捨得，太太打罵要忍得。對妻管嚴男人的研究也越來越細緻了。
