i think as the file is now smaller, and also with the bigger battery, the first two questions should be addressed.

the third one..... doubtful

this is one of the main reasons why my DP123M are collecting dusts now

I used DP2m for short, Sigma raw convertor has some default setting to boost the structure/detail... a bit cheating... my opinion only.... don't hammer

it may be the case, but i'm not sure.

as the foveon has different characteristics than others. really dunno and hard to compare. but sometimes i do think structure is by default too high.

It's not really troublesome to first save all Sigma files to TIFF in another destination/folder then process with LR or PS.

The only problem I found on DPMs so far is high ISO performance. IMO, it's not a camera after 5pm.

argh. yes. i forgot you can't have access to youtube.

the youtube video is an interview with sigma ceo. but most importantly, you can see the dp quattro camera in his hand, so you can see its real form factor. as the ceo said, it is designed for holding the camera with both hands for maximized stability. i think the design philosophy makes sense, even though it may look a bit wider than most cameras.

i think it works.

I never find it stable to hold a camera without touching an eye level finder...

Maybe too big for someone who brings all 3 along.  Perhaps detachable handgrip would be better?

in another interview, the ceo said that there are many electronic components of the dp quattro. in fact, he claimed, the electronic hardware (ram and circuitry) is comparable to top class DSLR. plus the bigger battery. thus, it needs a bigger size.

i personally think it would be rather bulky if brining all three DPQ together.

but i kind of want to get the dp1 quattro. because i think it would be a great landscape camera. i can use it on a small tripod, etc.

and if the tonal quality has been improved. im wondering if the dp3 quattro can be a great portrait camera.

I like the avant-garde design every much indeed but the wide body that forces user to shoot with both hands could be a problem.

I mean, in the case of not using an external VF, stretching both hands away from face/eye to shoot with the LCD is not a comfortable experience. And looks very amateurish.

But then adding an external VF is damaging such great styling.
