I ask them:
"Any special offer to upgrade my M9 to the new M type240 instead of repairing it?"
They reply:
Thank you for your inquiry.
The M9 and M (type 240) are quite different internally therefore there is no upgrade process from the M9 to the M.
How long do you have to wait? Coz I got dust on my CCD as well~~~ haha
I really wanna know ~ I spent a lot of time removing the dust in Lightroom for the photos I took in Spain earlier

I got this on 23/7/13 and still waiting:
"We have inspected your Leica camera: The camera requires a new sensor and LCD assembly.
This repair cost will be covered under Leica Customer Care Good Will.
At present there is a delay on receiving the sensors: delay 6 to 8 weeks"
Question:
Is the sensor and the LCD assembly in one module?
I thought my sensor has lots of dusts too...but after Schdmit checked it, they said sensor coating coming out. I suggest you take yours for them to check check...
This is what I received from the CS this morning, I sent in my M9 a month ago:
"We are waiting on a number of sensors to arrive from Germany and have received an update from them advising that sensors for replacement will be available early-mid October. I apologise for the delay."
I don't know what they are doing. Sending a small thing like a sensor doesn't take that much time, anyone knows that. Sounds like they are sending one by one rather than by batch to jack up their own internal costs, while many customers are waiting. The whole thing just doesn't make sense or they are not telling the true.
I think it take some time for Leica or Kodak to repair the faulty sensors, otherwise if the pool of ccd stock is there, it only take the time to pack up and send it out, and should not more than a week to do this....
