If T-mount is big enough for full frame, my bet is Leica will eventually kill M digital bodies (or let it die slowly). The focus will shift to full frame T-mount digital camera with auto focus and all sorts of high tech features (hybrid viewfinder that simulates RF experience?). A new lens line-up will also be made. These lenses will be as good as current M lenses, but with auto focus, and more expensive.

The new T-mount full frame will be backward compatible with legendary M lenses with adapter.

It is difficult for Leica to break away from its own burden. M is a burden because it was too successful. But M is also too limited to survive in the digital age.

I think they might go full frame later. A bit like aps-c Dslr before.

yes. as you said earlier. it is the right path. i also think the current model is merely transitional.

i have to change my comment - it can be something interesting. probably not this model, but something later in the future.

This wave will surely attract enough people to jump. I myself know a lot of people contemplating about Leica. They want the brand, don't want MF, and got scared by the price.

Leica T fits itself nicely into that gap of market. Start a crowd and build on it.

New design
Build in flash
Aluminium body
Unique CMOS tuning
Touch screen display (I hope the resolution is up to standard, didn't see anyone complain)
"Modern" AF focus speed
Sensible high ISo without forced NR

These are all the new things they are trying, not sure if all will go well. But each of them keep developing and it might open new door

The thing with unique leather case and hand straps also open doors to future personalizing accessories market.

Leica really gave it some thought this time.

But sadly, this T will be like the m8...

Body price I actually think it's not bad. But lens are quite overprice IMHO. Same with the adaptors and everything.

I whole heartedly wish Leica all the success with this T, although this is not my cup of tea.  If it is successful, hope that Leica will soon come up with a ff T (with a build-in VF), to which I am looking forward as a replacement of the M240.  But no matter what, I will still be keeping the range-finder CCD M's in the foreseeable future.

While I found Steve Huff's review too lousy and hyped, Ming Thein's too discompassionate, Kristian Dowling's apparently is the best one I have seen so far. It covered all the basics and suggested ONE very capable ability of the Leica T, aka the back LCD screen could be colour calibrated!?!

Mind you, I found it fairly poisonous (it did increase my buying incentive for this camera after reading it), so proceed with caution.
