this is a wonderful post...although i don't have MM, but it seems that a lot of it could apply my poor's man MM as well!! (of course except the great under recovery )

sure this is  the most final check i do before exporting it back to LR4.

Maybe I wasnt clear enough before but it actually isn't rocket science, its just at the bottom right corner of SEF.  I check and see if I have covered zones 0 to 10.  again this is just very personal taste.

btw, i didn't see any ching mentioned about the "point" correction in silver efex. Actually i find it very useful to fine tune micro contrast at a particular area of subject (eg. increase the micro contrast of the subject face, amplify black or white...etc). i almost use it everytime after i have done all the broadbrush adjustments in the photo...

True.

I only mentioned the steps i do in my 5 min rule.  many times i am just too lazy to do it....

I do use point adjust particularly on people's faces if i shoot in backlit or high contrast scenario.  I'd say i use the point correction maybe 20% of the time.

kanedias hing, I think the "point" correction you mentioned is that to modify the particular area of the photo. Both LR and SEF have this function, some I will use this function to correct my focus shift problem or to emphasis the area I would like to present.

Here is the example from my little boy. The original photo seem a bit focus shift (I focused on my little boy's eye at the centre of the pic)

I then tuned down a bit on the dark area (dark -9) and add some more detail by adjust the clarity by 7 on the overall picture by using LR. After such process, you can see the eye is a bit blurred from the magnified pic.

Then I used the point correction, particular focus on the eye area, I increased the contrast +60 and slightly increased the exposure by 0.5

and the eyes became sharper...

I was noticed that my max size is 2M!!!! I don't know why I couldn't upload that 1.2M photo....well...use the stupid way again...

slower is better for us
or we contract MMpoison too quick
there are not too many medicine in the market yet (have to wait)

sure...you see the "match" like icon on the most right hand side?
just click it, and you will find a circle
