先說老板早晨，買本什誌，順便講兩句報販行業艱辛及敬重其方便市民之勞苦...
跟住話要影番張相留存，重要的是補充自己做邊行、攝影只是興趣...

咁都唔俾影嘅話，forget it.

in my experience, those who don't mind to be photographed, no words is required.
for those who mind, no matter how friendly I am or chat withthem beforehand or buy something first, they will always refuse.

Agree.

For courtesy sake, I would still ask first at risk of being refused instead of shoot first at risk of offending the subject.

waist level off-finder is the best I think
it is not only a polite or not polite question to subject
but that is the capture the most original scene (subject not pose in anyway)

I always shoot 21mm at waist level. Get closer. Small aperture.
But for 50mm it's not easy to get the framing I like.

35mm off-finder is most comfortable config for me in above case

but 21mm, really need to get very very close to make capture attractive
I am not quite adapt to 21mm

I don't always place the camera at belly position (absolutely front).
If I need to get very close, I'll place the camera on hip side to form my body facing away from the subject.
In such case, the subject can hardly be aware of my shooting action.

Do u use neck strap ?

I ask becos usually I use hand strap
That means I hold camera on hand
Often give more alert to subject

I use long shoulder strap, 120mm length for my height so that the camera is just on my hip side when carried slanted.
