yeahhhhh.......closest focus at 0.7m is great!!!!

Surely closest distance is the advantage...and price certainly,
But the extra weight of goggle is a concern la...

Did you find the goggle a bit inconvenient in the beginning?

yup.....of course, it is easier to focus without the google...but now... i get used to it...

Absolutely.
I could easily modify my Summaron 35/3.5 to call up the 35mm frameline on M2 but...
it's kind of barbarian to me.

The last batch of Summaron 35mm f/3.5 will call up 35mm frameline, try look for one from that batch instead of modify a old vintage lens.

Thanks for the info.
In fact, I find the whole VF area of M3 achieves more or less a 35mm's angle of view.
Anyhow, I tend to use its f/2.8 version more often these days.

True if you are using M3, but for M2, guessing 35mm frame will be more difficult. I think the entire window is close to 28mm.

If you like the f/2.8 version, it is good too, more neutral colour.  But the Summaron f/3.5 is very vivid and solid! I love it a lot!
